A Wet One
The other day I walked the corridor, on my way to my room which is furthest away and inwards, at the darkest corner just above the busiest street in the city. Hmm… now that I think about it, it’s probably an underlying message hidden behind the reason why my room is the one furthest away.
Well. As I said, I slid down the corridor, whispering a cheerful melody, and was on the whole quite happy with my day. Suddenly I hear the unmistakable sound of a wet one. A stinker of magnitude. In fact, for a few seconds, I thought it was a very wet little lake that made a noise in the room I just passed. Wtf, I thought. That’s the room where the new super fresh colleague is sitting.
“He he”, this is going to be fun. I waited the seconds I know from experience from my own delivered wet babies, that it is necessary for the almost silent but deadly cloud to bloom up, and fill the room before I turned down the door knob and slid in with one,
“Hello there! My name is Stefan. I hear you start today. Welcome on board!”
“Uh… Janelle. But I’m called Nelly by my friends!”
She squeezed out a smirk. I bit my tongue because I was just about to pull off a couple of quick rhymes on the nelly part. Writer damage. The silence settled. And considering that she had just landed a crystal clear killer, it felt as if someone just needed to think hot thoughts, the whole room would fly in the air.
“I see you got a Mac. They stink,” I said with a raw grin.
“Uh… you think they stink?”
“Yes, in my opinion, they are only suitable as a holder for scented candles.”
“Or ordinary candles if you do not like those that smell.”
I saw a few drops of sweat appear on her forehead. I sniffed loudly and frowned a little confused:
“Well nice to meet you, I just wanted to say hi, now I’ll let you continue with your work.”
“Thank you”, she said and looked relieved.
“No sweat. See you later”, I said, grabbing the door to leave the room. I turned and said, “If you need help with anything, my room is way down the hall. You can’t miss it. Just follow the scent of the nerds. When it smells like a wet cat, you’ve found the right room…
